In order to properly manage the airport's expected flow in 10 years, AERODOM wanted to install an automated Baggage Handling System (BHS). To this end, AERODOM contracted LATAM LOGISTICS to design, implement and operate the Baggage Handling System (BHS) for Las Americas International Airport.
The consulting services provided included:
- On-site Evaluation: An on-site visit was conducted to evaluate the current system to gain a better understanding of the building and how to implement the new system.
- Estimation of the future flight plan: Based on the current flight plan, growth estimation and airport statistics data, LATAM LOGISTICS developed a flight plan for the horizon year.
- BHS/HBS design and engineering: Criteria for the design and engineering of BHS and HBS systems that comply with both international industry standards and local regulations. In order to comply with regulations while ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Tender documentation and support for supplier selection: The consulting team generated documentation, including reports, technical specifications, general and detailed schematics, and budget, for the BHS and HBS systems as part of the project. In addition, support was also provided to select the vendor for the BHS system.
- Support in vendor selection.
- Project supervision: After the concession was awarded to ALSTEF, LATAM LOGISTICS supervised the project for the new BHS.
