Project Description

LATAM LOGISTICS developed a simulation of the future Baggage Handling System (BHS) and Hold Baggage Screening (HBS) at Owen Roberts International Airport.

The main objective of the simulation was to validate the conceptual design and to identify potential bottlenecks or bottlenecks in the system.

  1. Model Elaboration: A detailed and precise 3D simulation model was created for the BHS of the airport.
  2. Model Calibration and Validation: The model was calibrated and validated with the available Flight Plan.
  3. Sensitivity Analysis: To select the properties of the model, some scenarios with different characteristics (such as length from the EDS exit and the decision point, number of Level 2 and Level 3 operators, etc.) were simulated.
  4. Simulation Scenarios Several scenarios were simulated to evaluate the performance of the system. These scenarios included the normal operational situation and some contingency situations.
  5. Analysis of the Results: An exhaustive analysis of the results was made with the data obtained from the different simulations.
