The client asked EBEA Consulting and LATAM LOGISTICS to develop a simulation of the future security process, including CT technology, for Owen Roberts International Airport.
The simulation was divided into two different phases:
- Phase 1 (Micromodel): Its aim was to validate the expected throughputs of the new lanes with CT technology.
The consulting services provided for Phase 1 simulation included:
- Sensitivity Analysis: To select the properties of the security lanes, some scenarios with different characteristics (such as tray reject rate, number of bag search stations, etc.) were simulated.
- Analysis of the Results: An exhaustive analysis of the results was made with the results obtained from the different simulations.
- Phase 2 (Macromodel): Its aim was to determine the minimum number of lanes that would meet the queue time and length targets.
The consulting services provided for Phase 2 simulation included:
- Simulation Scenarios Several scenarios were simulated to evaluate the performance of the system.
- Analysis of the Results: An exhaustive analysis of the results was made with the data obtained from the different simulations.
