With the proposed East Terminal new development at Tweed New Haven Airport, EBEA Consulting and LATAM LOGISTICS were asked to conduct an assessment of the initial capacity requirements of the apron, terminal and landside facilities, further informing the design process. As part of the project, a bespoke assessment of the landside, terminal and apron infrastructure was developed to respond to the airport needs. The outputs of the model included infrastructural requirements for all operational areas to satisfy the given targets and SLAs. The consulting services provided for the assessment included:
- Identification of Initial System Requirements and Performance: The following elements were taken into account:
- Landside access roads, curbsides and parking
- Terminal inbound and outbound passenger processes
- Stand capacity apron
- Guidelines Compliance: Demonstration of compliance with IATA LoS and ACRP Report 40 guidelines
- Multiple Scenario Testing: Study applying different sensitivities
- Final Selection: Identification of the best option for the second phase of the project – fast-time simulation
