LATAM LOGISTICS developed a simulation of the future Baggage Handling System (BHS) of Las Américas International Airport, in Dominican Republic. The main objective of the simulation was to validate the conceptual design and identify the possible bottlenecks or conflictive points of the system.

The consulting services provided for the simulation included:

• Model Elaboration: A detailed and precise 3D simulation model was created for the BHS of the airport.
• Model Calibration and Validation: The model was calibrated and validated with the available Flight Plan.
• Simulation Scenarios Several scenarios were simulated to evaluate the performance of the system. These scenarios included the normal operational situation and some contingency situations.
• Analysis of the Results: An exhaustive analysis of the results was made with the data obtained from the different simulations.
